Bridge design in Oberhausen

Artist Tobias Rehberger designed a pedestrian bridge, which stretches through 2 parks of the Emscher region as well as over the "Rhine-Herne-Kanal" as a coloured band. Realized as a tension strip bridge, the bridge's design convinces by its airiness and the curved shape along a length of 406 metres.
X-TEND stainless steel mesh was used as a fall protection, contributing to the dampening of the vital bridge structure's oscillation in combination with the steel posts of the balustrade structure, which were fixed to the walkways consisting of ready-made concrete elements.
